Gen. 1 Chapter 1: Rough Start

I escaped, just barely alive. The fire still raged back inside the bulding, the one I called home. All I knew was that my apartment in that building burned down and my family inside was missing. I had no clue if they were alive, or dead. My hair was badly burnt and the scars and burns on me hurt as if I was still on fire. The only thing that kept me running away was destiny. Destiny to start over again, from scratch.

Well, before that, maybe I should tell you what happened..... Something that would change me forever

. This horrible tragedy happened while I was making dinner for my new family, which was my husband Josiah, followed by the kids Natasha, Blaike, and baby Quentin.
That was when we heard an explosion from the lobby of the complex, and Josiah decided to see it out. When he had been gone for nearly an hour, I decided to go after him. However, when I opened the door, smoke and flames poured inside and fogged my vision. I tried to grab my kids, but they were nowhere to be seen. The only option I had was to escape and have the chance of losing my family. My hair was burning from the fire and I was getting severe burns. I didn't see a wooden door fall from the fire, so I tripped on that while escaping and recieved a burning, horrid scar on my face. It was a miracle that I escaped...... alive.

I ran into an alley, where I decided that I would spend my days until I got enough money to at least rent a house. My body burned in pain as I dropped to the ground, moaning for help. Before I passed out, I saw a man with bright auburn hair shouting....

**********
"Lady!" the man said, "Let me help you! You need help! I'm calling an ambulance!" He pulled out his cell phone and dialed 911. He got done talking to them after a few minutes. "We can't wait for an ambulence. Let's go." the man said, scooping me up in his soft arms. Not even a speeding train could stop him as he ran through the thick mud and heavy rain. "W-What's your name, lady?" he asked me, shivering in the cold rain. "Y-Y-Yoomee..." I shiver, "Y-Y-Yoomee S-S-Sierra." "Ah." he said, "I'm Derek. You must be Mikolaj Sierra's kid?"
"Yea."
"Interesting..."
I passed out again once the hospital was in plain sight of us....

"Is she going to be alright?" Derek's words were the first I heard once I came to again. "We think..." the doctor said, "But we'll want to keep her here for a few more days. We don't want to risk her flatlining again." "I-I-I flatlined?" I asked. "Yea. I saved your life." Derek said, "I used to be a paramedic. And those burns are pretty bad." I gave Derek a hug. "Wait..." I check out his face, and then felt the scar on my cheek. "We both have the same scar, in the same place."

"Maybe we're meant for each other."

That's the end of the first chapter. I hope you're ready for more Yoomee and Derek like I am! :D
